A.W Tillinghast designed that dates back to 1924, and considered by many as “mini winged” per @officialtop100 . @gil_hanse restored since 1997, and the variety of green sizes and slopes is unmatched. False fronts, and mostly back to front, you cannot be going long on these greens. Some of the best short par 4’s I have come across such as the 354 yard 8th, and around 275 yard 15th (second picture) that plays up the hill to a green that is back to front sloped, angled away from you to the left, and as thin and sloped as it gets. The 5th green (fourth photo) is as close as it gets to Winged Foot, again back to front, false front, ridge in the middle, and giant right to left slope on the back right of the green.
Such a great piece of land, with my favorite hole being the uphill 13th with a great green complex and undulating slopes that put you into true Tillinghast putting. Walking up to the green is my favorite walk on the course as the hole sits on the highest point of the course with the green built up and surrounded by deep bunkers, especially the one on the right. Also, phenomenal cross bunker on the par 5 3rd which Tillinghast incorporates in a lot of his designs like the 4th at Bethpage Black and 17th at Baltusrol Lower, also redone by Hanse). Also a co-host in the 2023 U.S Mid-Am stroke play. At just over 6,650, it's one of the toughest shorter courses you can find.
