First and foremost, kudos to @propergolf and @labargolfrenovations . The bunker work here truly is a work of art, not in terms of just eye candy, but playability. The boldness, positions, and shape of the bunkers truly make you think over your tee shots and layup shots on par 5’s. True hazards as they should be.
Gary Player Design took over this 1991 original Brian Silva and Geoff Cornish design in 1998, although Stephen Kay took over most of the work for Player which gives it the classical design, per @officialtop100
Lots of elevation changes, views on NYC skyline, creeks, ravines, and a covered bridge. This layout uses all these land features so well, and most of the greens have a spine in the middle or bowls which create for interesting approach shots and pitches around the green.
Can’t wait to see a lot more of the masterplan come together throughout the years, check out @propergolf website, very cool masterplan, sketches and pictures of the projects he has worked on and currently working on.
