Donald Ross’ 3rd golf course he’s ever designed - Southern Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC. A thoughtful restoration by @kmfgolf. Extremely fun course with every hole being different. The sandy soil makes the playing surfaces firm with the ability to play the ground game, especially on the downhill approach on the 13th with a mound guarding the middle of the green to deflect balls away or towards the hole locations. The green variety and contouring if off the charts bold and gives the players the ability to get creative and play aggressive but with a big risk. False fronts can be found throughout the course in many different shapes and sizes. If you love Donald Ross courses, firm and rolling fairways, and bold greens, this is the place to be. Beautiful vistas can seen throughout the property thanks to much needed tree removal and the waste bunkers are a work of art. Very fun property as well with an 18-hole, very bold putting course with lights powered by solar.
